Romford started out as an area in which it was renowned for light industry and agriculture services. Today it is underpinned towards being known for it’s shopping centres, entertainment and leisure centres, retail outlets and commercial and residential buildings.
It also has developed an enviable nightlife in and around the main town that has catered to the rapidly rising younger population. It is estimated that it gets 11,000 visitors at night alone to it’s pubs, clubs and restaurants! It has come a long way since its formation in the middle ages in 1247 as a market town.
Romford has grown exponentially over time and has embraced change and culture alike. Even today the market is still vibrant and busy although nowhere near as large as it once was.
Planning applications and permits are through The London Borough of Havering.
